Question EXTRACTING METH FROM WATER

Hello, I have meth HCL in water/semi dirty water. How do I extract it? Its D'Meth by the way.

Shall I add DCM, separate it, dry it with silica beads. Wash it with dry acetone 4 times the amount. put it in fridge for 2 hours or so. Have the HCL drop to the bottom, collect.
Add ethyl and let it re-crystal.

Would that plan work ? Or will i use a lot, any other methods please ?

I don't think that would work, as meth hcl is more soluble in water than dcm, so it wouldn't move to the dcm. You can evaporate it to dryness , wash it with aceton or not and or dissolve the dried stuff in alcohol and filter and crystallize or evaporate. You could deprotonate it to meth base and them it ould move to the dcm, but youll be left adding the hcl back afterwards

To deprotonate, how to? Do I ph to 12 with the water then DCM, then gas it in the dcm?

I lose a lot letting it evaporate in water, trying to reduce the lost.

It's already in the dirty water.

Yes, sodium hydroide or some other strong base to ph12 seperate the dcm do that 3x and adjust the ph between if you must, then wash the dcm with water adjust the ph between each washing, then precipitate from ccm via hcl gas preferably but you can instead dilute the hcl 50% or so and then seperate the water and evaporate it

I generally lose very little, how hot are you getting it? Watar boils at 100, so unless your running it out of water on high, meth hcl doesn't melt until `170C, so you shouldn't lose anything (very little) I evaporate aquous meth solution pretty regularly

I would try tartaric acid and alcohol or methanol basify it with sodium hydroxide then re smoke it off. With either sulfuric and acetone 1:10 dropwise to 6ph into a sulphate or aluminium foil balls and hydrochloric acid IE. Muriatic into gas bubbler use as same up to ph 6 into hydrochloride crystals smokable. Good luck friend....

now, thats not how it works, thats not how any of this works. First, aluminum foil and hcl produce hydrogen gas and aluminum chloride, not hcl gas. If you use tartaric acic you get methamphetamine tartrate, which isnt very popular, probably for good reason. using tartaric acid is how you seperate enantiomers, afterwards you deprotonate the meth back to baswe and hcl it back to hcl.

I know this what...I was referring to is that using al/muriatic gas will result in a HCl salt. I also know that tartaric separates enantiomers Levo/Dextro. What I meant was you could do this to get the Dextro back to a base and out of the water would separate....Then get either sulphate or HCl salt back out of the base solvent. Sorry if was confusing was just trying to help. Good luck friend. I have amphetamine racemate only for black drop. Could/ would separate enantiomers and or provide Methamphetamine for black drop. For right quantity requested & right price or trade. Sounds like you do know or are familiar with organic chem too. I'll keep this in mind if I ever have a question TY.

so you were telling us that aluminum foil/muriatic acid will make aluminum chloride? Why tho?we were talking about meth.

Add there NaOH and reach basic pH ~12, then add DCM and extract 2-3 times. Then combine extracts, add there Na2SO4 anhydrous in order to get rid of water traces. Then, pour DCM extract with meth into an another beaker and add there HCl acid or HCl gas. Crystallize your meth HCl.
