Sim, ele está certo. O HI 57% fará o trabalho muito bem, mas você precisa usar um bom excesso dele, a concentração deve permanecer > 40% o tempo todo. Você pode reduzir a quantidade de HI necessária adicionando H3PO4 85%+ ao longo da reação, o que o desidratará e manterá a concentração funcional de HI alta. Cuidado, você não quer empurrar o HI para fora!
Outra maneira é produzir o HI in situ com ácido fosfórico e NaI ou KI.
E, é claro, o H3PO3 funcionará muito bem como substituto do RP ou do H3PO2 - precisa de mais quantidade e de temperaturas mais altas, mas funciona muito bem. O H3PO4/NaI ou KI precisa de temperaturas ainda mais altas.
Para obter o H3PO3, procure em suprimentos para hidroponia ou vinhedos
