According to a search of the most exhaustive Meth Making message board in history.(, the Hive archive) "Smurf dope" is the result of Histamine blockers; Loperamide, Chorphenimin, and loratadine Not getting removed from the psuedoephedrine pills ( possibly even whole pill shake and bake) and using iron or copper can cause it to be greenish tinted

Hello, brother. I encountered the same problem as you. Methamphetamine always leaves something blue/green after scalding, and methamphetamine scalding smells like rubber burning. I used the iodine-subphosphoric acid method, did not add red phosphorus, and the reaction time was 8-10 hours.

Come to think of it after conferring with some old friends this would only happen when we would get a cluster fuck a different pills extended release anything with the feather in it sometimes Claritin type things Red hots generic many things shit from overseas we had no idea what it was but in there somewhere was the darkest blue I've ever seen in my life this sort of forgot a marketing theme AKA Smurf but the last few hits did tastes like burning tires so thank you for everyone's research I haven't thought about this problem in many years I feel we're getting closer to a solution

I have a LOT of experience with this. I used to do it on purpose when I was young and dumb. The blue (sometimes bright green) crackback is due to histamines that pull with the ephedrine when you water pull pills. Actifed (and generics) crackback blue. Histatabs (and generics) crackback green. You can avoid this by pulling your ephedrine into toulene (or other) and gassing it out.

Back in the day everyone was gassing out pills so i would always water pull my ephedrine to have my stuff stand out. Then I learned about the whole 'signature' drawback. lol

I personally enjoyed the blue or the better sometimes it was so blue it looked black and to see that clouded cloud blue stem was quite the talk of the trailer yeah specific taste it wasn't bad but I always had suspected either heat or some kind of a histamine reaction either way that really brings back the 90s for me thanks for your story

In 2010 in Canada there was a lot of meth going around that turned blue when melted. Not quite as intense as the picture further up the thread, it was more of a clear ice blue. Apparently the color was due to some new ingredient they started adding to Reactine brand pseudoephedrine tablets. It was okay dope,, though.
In your case it looks like metal contamination, which I've seen before, but not only when melted. Did it come in contact with any metal implements at any point?
Could also be a blocker that was in the pills for the purpose of messing up your cook.

Did you distill the oil? If you did, you probably wouldn't be having this problem. You should turn it back to freebase and distill it. Fixes everything.
