I saw a post about the basic hydrolysis of n methyl acetamide, but am wondering if anyone can speculate if acidic hydrolysis by formic acid would also work?
My thinking being, if it works, the n methylacetamide will hydrolyze into methylamine, and acetic acid, and since formic acid is the stronger acid, it should form methylammonium formate, and acetic acid.
Does this sound right?
