Even if this was possible, I don't see the point in using pseudo when other precursors are so much easier to get and at a better price. Sourcing pseudo is a pain in the neck while bromoketone can be purchased by the kilo without much hassle.

I thought you wanted to make mephedrone aka mcat not meth. You may want to clarify this in your post as meth was never mentioned.
Ok, then you may want to expand your search, depending on where you live. By bromoketone I mean 2b4mp, CAS 1451-82-7. It can be purchased, there are sellers inside the EU, for example if that applies to you (you don't need to confirm), or it can be imported from Russia/China for very cheap but that has its own risks, or it can be synthesized from CAS 5337-93-9 (which can be synthesized from toluene, someone posted the steps on the forum very recently (2 weeks ago). I know this may be extra work and it may require more gear than what you currently have, but to me personally it's easier compared to sourcing pseudo that is under strict policing by the authorities.

Ephedrine is very close to methamphetamine and an excellent precursor as far as I understand. After all, it's in the same family and has very similar effects, just milder. I miss my ephedrine stash. Regarding the chemistry and the utility of hydroalcoholic form you'll need to do your homework, I don't know this stuff and won't be doing the legwork for you as I don't benefit from it.
It's really just ephedrine hydrochloride in alcohol. He coined the term hydroalcoholic himself to express that.
