This forum has a real drug synthesis backed community I have noticed. Are many of you legit university educated chemists? Hardcore hobbyist? How much of an investment would someone need to buy the equipment for a bare bones basic lab (maybe one that you could synthesis more than one drug) I am going to start digging into some of the easy recipes and see if I think I could do it

Props to all of you guys. I find it so fascinating you guys are able to mix some chemicals together to make the drugs we all love. You are kind of like wizards (Coming from someone who has had only one college chemistry class which was a struggle to pass)

The amount of investment can be minimal. It all depends on what you are synthesizing and in what quantities you plan to produce.
For example, to synthesize mephedrone in small quantities you will only need some glassware, no other equipment is needed. But if you are going to produce 100kg of mephedrone per week, you will have to splurge on some expensive equipment.

honestly i just get a new hyperfixation every year or 2 and this is my current one ^^;

i dont have any glassware or precursors yet cuz im broke but im working on it. i barely passed high school chemistry. i was never interested (or good at it) until very recently. honestly the stuff u need to make drugs isnt that expensive, i just have other things i need more rn lol

Very interesting... I have been looking at the shopping list. At least I have a good resource if I have questions!

Mr. Heisenberg of course nailed it. It depends what you want to do. Spoiler alert, you probably won't be making any LSD, if ever - like the rest of us, without a serious investment in equipment, effort, time and money, and what I mean is, even then it is no easy task. You can probably get everything you need including glassware and lab equipment to make anything you want (within reason) and also buy the necessary precursors to focus on 20g batches of amphetamine and get started for $500 or less, and that price probably includes ruining your first shipment of ingredients to failed attempts and still have some change left over, maybe depending on your source for products and route chosen.

So making amphetamine must kind of be an art form if you will likely ruin your first batch? Not a simple cook book recipe?

Depends on the route. If running ephedrine conversion, i was able to create right ar the start. that was in early 90s. When pills were easy. i used to walk in cosco wulitjout a membership and fill a cart. empty their shelves. Anhyrous amonia can hurt you going that route.
Prop routes are more complicated

"This is art, Mr. White! You're an artist! .... Thanks Jesse, I'm glad you approve...."
Yeah.. plan on ruining a few batches, and if you don't... well shit, you're the man now dawg...

Amphetamine is really simple as far as straight up syntheses go. Just a little tougher than a PSE into meth reduction... these guys make it look like a bowl of cereal in the videos. I can't say for myself, yet, but put me in coach! When you undertook the daunting task of learning to make meth, you didn't think it'd be as simple as cooking PSE in some hydroiodic acid(whatever that is) for a few hours.... a/b extract, bubble HCl gas, collect the salt and wash it with acetone. Hardly chemistry right? It does take a few steps to get there, some work and risk is involved, dear lord, put the RP and I2 together, cook for a bit and add an equal portion of water, there's your HI acid.. A dash of this and a blob of that, simple enough right?. You may not succeed at first, you probably won't - so expect it. Apparently, even trained experts don't usually nail first time experiments. I can assure you, it is NOT difficult if you can troubleshoot accurately and learn from mistakes, in a safe manner. If you are self taught like myself, be patient and persistent. Most of all be safe. None of it is going to matter after you burn your shit down and end up in jail or dead. Go at your own pace and live to learn another day.

My advice, practice doing some "food chemistry" first. There's a reason they call em' chefs and cooks. Learn to make a few dishes, competently, without burning anything or making anyone sick. Study your organic chem dilligently, learn techniques, watch videos, read, read, read! Familiarize yourself with the terminology. Start small and simple and practice some things. The gold mine is when someone explains in simple terms, what is actually going on during a particular stage of a reaction, the science behind it - whats happening, what changed? How? Why? Understanding magic, owning it, making it yours.. and then performing it yourself. I saw in another post, someone called the write ups here, "stone age chemistry" outdated and useless to most, but entertaining. I think, well, go back to your superlab and push "START" the button for your stuff. For the rest of us: Let the artists paint. When your stupid civilization falls in on itself and you can't figure out how to turn the power back on or get anymore precursors from China. The dinosaurs will be beyond thunderdome.

The episode of Hamiltons with Fester in the devil suit and the MDMA chef with the wig. Cooler than the other side of the pillow if you ask me! Starting from scratch, 15-20 steps away, maybe more, and using only store bought items to produce ~100g of good, clean product. What? Amazing... magic.... Art! ......... Are you not entertained?
