What are you referring to by "oil" here exactly? DMT in it's raw form is a crystalline solid. You mean a solution containing it?
In any case if the workup was done properly nearly all remaining impurities can be removed using activated carbon. No need to bother with distillation. Check out my comment in another thread regarding P2NP purification which contains additional details now how to utilize the activated carbon in a procedure.

Yeah i think the guy means the oil.
Although you can get a more pure product by distillation, not by much though.
