In a fire at a private house in Mansfield, Massachusetts, police discovered a home methamphetamine lab. One man was taken into custody.
Firefighters reportedly received a call and arrived at the scene and found a fire on the second floor of a private residence. The fire was quickly extinguished, but firefighters' attention was drawn to chemicals and equipment used to make drugs in the home
The state fire marshal's team and state police assisted Mansfield police in inspecting the scene.
According to state police, evidence found at the scene directly indicated that methamphetamine manufacturing was taking place at the home. The 48-year-old resident of the house, they said, has been taken into custody and will be charged shortly.
The other occupants of the home are now safe and have been moved to a temporary shelter. No injuries were reported.
