Is DMT soluble in water?

Hi everyone

Is DMT soluble in water?

I have searched the internet, but I did not find a suitable reference for the solubility of DMT in water. What is your opinion?

When the ayahuasca potion is made in the Amazon, it's by boiling the root in water, so I think it dissolves in water, right?

DMT freebase is practically insoluble in water, but it will dissolve in aqueous acids.

As far as I know ayahuasca contains more than just H₂O. Its also heated to increase solubility. These factors combined make you able to take it orally. G.Patton actually covered this topic in his post.

The plant material likely contains a salt of DMT which would be water soluble. Also I have seen some recipes call for vinegar which would form the acetate salt of DMT which is water soluble.
