Chapter 1 Benzene
Reagents
- 100 g Sodium Benzoate 0,877 mol (C7H5NaO2)
- 60 g NaOH 1,5 mol
- 1. mix it and crush it
- 2. Carry out a dry distillation of a mixture of benzoate and hydroxide
- 3. Pre-distill the orange liquid to produce a transparent benzene solution (benzene boils at 353.25K)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Lfv3_9xOqo&t=457s&ab_channel=Pavel%C5%A0ejvlWarning!!! Its tear gas!!!
Reagents
- Acetone 500ml 6,81 mol
- Calcium hypochlorite 100g 0,7 mol (Ca(ClO)₂)
- A few drops of 96% H2SO4 (drain cleaner) as a catalyst
- 1. Combine it
- 2. Add a few drops of H2SO4 and check pH stop adding drops when the pH is around 4
- 3. Distill it(acetone boils around 329K opposite chloroacetone boils around 392K and dichloroacetone boils around 446K. You want chloroacetone.)
Chapter 3 P2P
Reagents- Chloroacetone 100ml 1,25 mol
- Benzene 110ml 1,25 mol (C6H6)
- AlCl3 10g as a catalyst
- 1. Combine it
- 2. Distill it
