Amphetamine Salt Overacidification

Amphetamine Salt Overacidification. Correcting Method.
Isopropyl alcohol is a "great idea", it draws water and alkali into itself (the indicator then screams at you that you have alkali in the alcohol), and it itself is soluble in water... We do not dry the alcohol from water before neutralization, only fools do it correctly... And then we get a mixture: amine sulfate and sodium sulfate or potassium sulfate. The method should be called how to lose a lot and quickly...

Hello. NaOH solubility in IPA is negligible at room temp so that NaSO4 admixture will be insignificant. This is quick method, ofc it's worth to get rid of water in case of large scale procedure.

And how much water is in this isopropyl alcohol..., even if isopropyl alcohol is dried with anhydrous sodium sulfate, about 5 percent of water will remain in it. But I remind you that no one dried alcohol in the method at all, and there is enough water there to dissolve the alkali. For a quick method, you need to at least use a non-polar solvent, which dissolves a minimum amount of water in itself. So this method is a complete 0.
